I listened to an amazing, mind-blowing audio cd today about the Essential Laws of Successful Leadership by Guy Finley. Finley just presented to me a totally new perspective of leadership. I’ll never look at leadership in the same way again.
When I first received that audio cd from Success University, I looked at the title and told myself that I didn’t want to hear a boring lecture on leadership. Why would I want to become a leader-leader? But after listening intently to the whole lecture, I decided that I have to become a leader - A leader to my own self (that is, before I lead others)! Because if I don’t lead myself I’ll become a follower. And as a follower, I’ll never a achieve the freedom I’ve set as my ultimate goal.
According to Finley, the reason why everyone lists down being successful, rich etc. as a goal they want to achieve is because what they truly, ultimately want is freedom. Freedom of not being under someone else’s control. Freedom to be able to lead the life they wish, to be able to do the things they truly desire.
In order to achieve that freedom, we need to become our own leaders. Finley lists down 5 Actions (to take) To A Whole New You:-
Action 1: CHOOSE and be done with it - Make a decision (a goal you truly want to achieve, to do what it is that you love, following your mission in life) and don’t look back.
Action 2: ACT on it while putting all your doubts behind you (your doubts are formed from what you’ve experienced in the past. By listening to your past, you allow yourself to become a follower. Break free from it. Be in the moment and you are leading). Take the necessary steps to get closer to your goals.
Action 3: REALISE what you have done and accept responsibility for your actions. Only true leaders take responsibilities for their actions no matter what the outcome. Only true leaders are willing to make mistakes and learn from it - these are lessons that will lead them to their liberty/freedom - their goals.
Action 4: RELEASE - continually release what it is that you see (all negative thoughts, doubts and fear. Being fearful will never lead you to achieving true freedom).
Action 5: START OVER - find relationship with the moment itself. Meeting the moment is an act of purity and clarity. Live in the moment while making plans for the future.
It’s that simple. I can start now! And so can you!! Here’s to a better today and tomorrow:)

When you’re feeling good, the world smiles at you. The sun shines, the birds sing, you see smiling faces everywhere. Good, happy emotions are contagious! That’s how I feel today. This morning everything seem to be alright. I’m willing for it to be the same throughout.
I find prayers, zikir and reciting the al-Quran helps alot with the process of finding answers to any issues. After all, who better to turn to when in time of need than God the al-Mighty. Thank you Allah s.w.t..
To me, sometimes it is better to keep silent about certain matters rather then discussing it out loud. Being silent does not mean you’re not doing anything. I remain silent, but my subconscious is silently communicating to the parties involved. I focus and let my subconscious do the talking, coaching and counselling. When sensitive issues are involved and you can’t find the right words to say, this particular method works well for me. You can do it anytime without the other party consciously knowing. You’re reaching out to their subconscious, sending out good vibes, warm emotions.
Embrace them with happy thoughts, pray for their happiness, let them know through thought waves that you care about them and want the best for them. And they will come to know of it. Because you send them good vibes, they’ll feel your warmth and you may find they’re faces light up when you show up in front of them.
Think positive thoughts of others and you’ll have others thinking healthy thoughts of you too! 
My good acquaintance Raymond wrote a fantastic article on his website on getting yourself in the state of alpha. According to Raymond, when a person is in alpha state he is able to attract what he desires most. In other words, the law of attraction works best for you when you learn to put your brainwave in alpha mode. Raymond also mentions being able to get into this state when driving on the highway. I must say I experience the same thing. Before I read his article, I didn’t know that I could easily put myself into that state. Now that I’m aware of it, I can get into alpha state when driving familiar routes, before falling asleep, when I’m nursing my son and especially when in prayer or zikir. When in alpha state, my subconcsious mind (or so I think) helps me walk through any issues I have and find creative sollutions to it.
When praying, I talk to God and I have faith that He listens. My prayers are often answered. We’ve all heard it before, ask and you shall receive. It is also the law of attraction, attracting to you the desired outcome.
When I’m driving, I get creative inspirations that come to me and I feel like stopping the car to jot down these ideas. Next time I plan to keep a tape recorder in my car so that I can ’talk’ to it when these great rush of ideas arise. Sometimes when I’m relaxing on the couch browsing through magazines, I get an inspiration for a business (money making op). So I write them down. Thing is, I have yet to carry out any of it. Oh yes, I’ve done one. This internet marketing business, my dotcom website, having a mentor.. That’s one big idea turned into reality.
The way it is with the power of attraction, you have to believe in the theory or law. Be aware of it’s mechanics. Be aware of how it works. Then when you have it working for you through the ideas and inspirations you receive, act on it. Only when you take action will the law of attraction work in your favour. That is my opinion anyway. It’s such a beautiful day outside. The sun is shining brightly against the stunning, blue skies and to me signifying a cheery, beautiful day. But there’s something tugging at my heart. I don’t want to focus on it for fear that it’ll expand and become bigger. But it’s an issue I’ve been struggling to resolve. I don’t wish to display dirty laundry here..but I’m stuck and I have to admit that I need help. But who to get help from? I’ve been running a list in my head. None deemed appropriate. I need someone who can advise without having any emotions attached to it. I need to talk to someone who is wise and fair. The Prophet Muhammad S.A.W… how I miss you.. your teachings that’s been passed on. I must dig into them. But I feel too emotional.
I know this is not me acting what I preach. Didn’t I mention only a few weeks ago that we shouldn’t be telling others our problems. Still I am forced to make an exemption for this one. It’s a bit complex. So I ask you dear readers, what do you do when 2 of the people you care about most hate each other? Ok, so maybe hate is a way too harsh word. The thing is, these two people are more alike in nature than they’d ever know. I’ve noticed this way back. So why do two people who are so alike unable to get along with each other? Each have their own ego. One trying to get control over the other. The other trying to break free and just live a life.
I’ve been getting this idea that they both have some unsettled emotional past and are hanging on to it a bit too tight. Causing each to have delusional thoughts about the other. I just feel caught. They’re both accusing me for causing this tension. Me? And all I’m trying to do is to get them to make peace with each other. I try to make each one happy. I can only give so much.. What do they want from me? Do I not give them each enough love? Do I not provide the necessary financial support whether back in the past or now. Am I actually a burden to them?
I hope not… I’ve bought insurance.. so if anything were to happen to me, they’d both get something from me…
Was it a thing in the past that I’d done that’s catching up with me now?
am I being punished for it?
Things couldn’t be any worst. But I remember reading somewhere, (or was it in one my SU motivational audios?) that when you think things are at it’s worst, you are actually closest to achieving your goals. You just have to hang on, keep going.. keep striving..and you will reach your destination..the pot of gold.. I want to believe in this so much. That’s why I’m still pushing ahead in life. Doing the best I can. Making the best of the situation. Seeing the light in the dark tunnel.
I’m just going to keep on going until I succeed..
Some people just run away from their problems. It’s tempting. But it wouldn’t solve anything. I say, face the situation with a brave face. With confidence and God’s blessing, the solution will come. There is a way.. or so I tell myself..
And no..it’s not about my parents’ marriage.. they’re still happily married. More like, the new mother and the new son (still unable to get acquainted).
This caught me by surprise. I was reading a few chapters from RK’s Retire Young, Retire Rich when I decided to take a break and surf the net for a while. Logged into our SU team forum to find a great article from my mentor. An article totally related to what I’m currently reading. So here it is:
Do You Choose Linear Or Residual, Recurring Income?
by Zamri NanyanIf you were given 2 financial choices in life, which one will you pick? I’m also assuming that you are already making a living comfortably at work or in your business.
Here are your two important choices.
A. You get paid every day on a fix amount of dollar (say USD$100 per day) but you have to work every day to get that amount of money. You stop working and your income stops.
B. You work every day for two years with little to no income at all and sometimes you lose your money, but you are sure that by the end of the third year, you will get more than the person who works every day in the case of option A above. And the money keeps on multiplying regardless if you work in the fourth year and beyond.
Which one will you choose now?
I’m sure many people will choose option B. Who doesn’t want an income stream that will keep on multiplying regardless if you work or not? And, believe me that there is a few ways to do it.
But I also believe that some people will simply choose option A as they can’t bear the fact that it takes so much time, money and effort to achieve their financial dreams.
If you were to ask me, I would not abandon the idea of making a recurring income. At the same time, I would love to get paid every day for the work that I’m doing. It’s just not making sense to choose only option A and leaving option B on the table.
Of course, eventually you want a steady recurring income in your life - the one that will provide you cash regardless if you work or not. At that time, you have the luxury to choose to work or not and even if you choose to work, it is more because you like to do it - not for the money anymore.
Now, the idea of building a recurring income is not new and it is a very exciting concept after all. Let’s look at how Burke Hedges explains this great idea in his book “The Parable of The Pipeline” which tells a story of two cousins who bring back water from a river to their village using two methods.
The first cousin, Bruno, will bring a bucket to scoop the water and carry it back to the village. He’ll be paid for the water. Then, when the demand increases, he hires more people to get the water. Obviously, he gets paid more but he also has to pay the employees and the tools. His income will be limited by the number of employees and the tools he has.
The other cousin, Pablo, is quietly making a plan. He is building a pipeline to supply water from the river to the village. It takes time, money and effort to build the pipeline. As you can guess, he is not paid a single red cent for this effort. He can see his cousin making a fortune but he knows it will be to his advantage when his work is done.
Finally, his pipeline is complete. What the villagers need to do is turn on the tap and the water is supplied directly into the village cistern. You know what? Who’ll need to buy the water from the other guy anymore when the simple turn of a tap will provide water in their houses at a cheaper price than the other guy charges?
As for Pablo, his work is done and he’ll get paid for as long as his pipeline is working (while he is lazying around).
I’m not going to build a real water pipeline for sure but you can model this concept to create your own recurring income.
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Write a best-selling book for a royalty income. Then write some more books in your spare time. You can also write an ebook and sell it online.
2. Buy a property and rent it out. Then, buy a few more to double or triple your income.
3. Deposit your money in bank or invest in stocks. Compounding effect will double your money in 7 years for a yearly 10% interest of your savings. Stock appreciation will increase your money as well.
4. Create a product that requires a license from you. For example, a piece of software can be charged annually for the license. Big corporations are doing it but the small players are seeing this opportunity too.
5. Build a network marketing business. You and your team will build a group of distributors and the bigger your team is, the more money you will get. But, do not confuse network marketing with a get-rich-quick or pyramid scheme.
So, back to the original question, “if you were given 2 financial choices in life, which one will you pick?”

My sister in-law is leaving for Birmingham, England this Friday to pursue her degree in interior design. Together with her husband, they’ll be starting a new living in a land foreign to them. They’re excited and who wouldn’t be? I, myself am looking forward to furthering my masters overseas too. Although I’ve practically spent my primary school years in different parts the world, the thought of spending 2 more years in another country gives me a rush.
All this while I’ve been abroad with my family, enjoying the luxuries and privileges of my father’s status as a diplomat. My dad’s retired from it all. But as a family, we hold those memories very fondly in our hearts. When and if I do further my masters elsewhere, it’ll be with my new family - my husband and son. And we’ll totally be responsible for each other. It’s scary, yet thrilling.
I choose Tokyo as my first choice of destination because I have experienced life there as a young child. From what I recall, the locals are friendly, polite and hardworking plus their surroundings immaculately clean . However, in Japan language could become a barrier. Where else, if I were to head to UK, it’d be more familiar territory. So yeah.. that’d be great too.
Hmm.. there’s alot to prepare before I can finally take off. First I would have to secure a place in the program at the University of my choice, then secure a government scholarship, next 3 months research method refresher course (compulsory for government scholars) and after that arrangements for passports, visas, accommodations etc. My husband and I are also planning to move to a new home before flying (we have our reasons). So I’d have to sell the current place and get a new loan for the new place. Phew! Alot to be done!
Other than that, there are medical concerns for my son’s condition. Whether or not he should undergo a heart op if need be (in Malaysia). He’ll be fine, Insya Allah. We always pray for his health and longevity. It’d be great if he could start pre-school in London. Then he’d have a cute accent too. Now, that is very desirable!
