My Goals Put Into Motion

Today’s such a cheerful happy day! Thanks to my boss for giving me a fantastic report! It’s a great feeling to be appreciated for all your hard work (smartly done so it was practically a breeze);) On days like these, I love my job. And I’m going to learn to love it more for the next 12 years or so.

People, I finally have my life planned out. It’s kinda comical in way.. It was just a few days ago that my life path was unclear despite the many goals I’ve set. However, just yesterday, I got it all sorted. It’s a wonderful feeling. Like a burden being lifted. I longer have to wander around listlessly searching for the perfect destiny. I now know which path I want to take. It’s got alot to do with the list I made in my previous post. And more than just that.

Yesterday, I’ve finally found a way to align my goals with my husband’s. I laid down both our goals side by side and made a time line of when we expect to achieve it. Prior to that, I’d discussed with my husband my idea and he totally agreed with it, saying that it’s all he ever wanted. When I found my real dreams/passion desire/goals, my husband found his too. It’s crystal clear now. We know exactly what we want to achieve. We’ve aligned our dreams with each other! Now this is real love;)

Another great discovery is that I’ve managed to will my ideal home into existence. God knows how I did it. I’ve been envisioning a particular house using the architect of my mind. I’ve been thinking of it day and night for several months already since I last read ‘The Secret’. And then just yesterday, BAM! It appeared out of cyberspace and starred me right in the face!! It was there on one of our local property directory! A not so new project in Damansara. My dream home revealed to me in motion!! They have a visual tour of the actual house. You probably won’t believe me if I say this but it’s true, the house is every bit as I imagined it to be - in layout, rooms, staircase everything! It sent shivers up my spine ( a pleasurable one ofcourse). This is the law of attraction unfolding before my eyes. Although it took several months to make an appearance, it finally did in life colour! I’m just ecstatic about it!! I’m itching to paste the link here but I just don’t want to ruin this personal moment for me. Next step is to actually having it firmly in my grasp. You wouldn’t believe it’s cost! But achievable if my mind says so.. phew!

Have a brilliant day everyone!!

Attracting What You Desire

I am taking the cue from Raymond of http://attractingyourgoals.com/ on using the power of attraction to attract what I desire in life. Today, I just want to list down a few (specific) things that I’d like to attract (these are only the few I’m willing to share):

  1. 5 brilliant SU protege (my own);
  2. A female yoga teacher for free yoga classes;
  3. My ideal home;
  4. An  MBA from Waseda University (my good friend Payjal gave me this idea so I’m contemplating it!);
  5.  A chance to serve at our Malaysian Students’ Department in New Zealand or UK (this after after returning from Japan);
  6. My ideal car;
  7. For my marriage to be happier and more blissful;
  8. A martial arts skill (extremely useful);
  9. Retiring young and rich (at the age of 40 - too old? hmm. I might just be able to do it way earlier, God-willing)!

Heheh… btw. I’ve made a few changes to my new year goals. Didn’t think I’d have to so early on in the year. But that’s the best thing about having flexible goals. You get to change them to suit your current needs. That’s why it’s called a SMART goal!

Internet Marketing Doubts Answered

Have you ever been presented with an internet marketing opportunity promising you a bright financial future, but you rejected or objected due to several reasons?

In the following paragraph, I shall elaborate on issues you may have on internet marketing and provide answers to each one of them: (For SU students, these questions are taken and adapted from lesson 10 of Street Smart Network Marketing Course by Robert Butwin )

Objection 1: Is this one of those pyramid things?

What you really want to know is whether I’m making money out of you from this program. The answer then would be yes. I am providing you with the opportunity to join a very valuable personal development program and I will be paid for it should you join. With Success University, the pyramid is upside down. We want and strive to put more people on top! When you join, you’ll be making an income out of it too.

Objection 2: I don’t have the time to get involved.

Saving time is the exact reason why you want to get into internet marketing. With internet marketing, you’ll be able to put your business on automation and this is when you start making money even while you’re asleep or on vacation!

Objection 3: I don’t have enough money to get involved.

If you’re wanting to start a business, no business would be cheaper than this! You’re only having to pay the price of a cup of coffee a day to run it. You will eventually be earning more in compensation to override the cost of your start up and monthly fees. How fast it’ll happen will depend purely on your effort and not much do to with the rise and fall of the market. In this business, the product is already created for you (more time saved). It’s a terrific, success building product too! And you won’t be needing to keep any inventories. Nor would you have to go through the hassle of posting the products to your customers. Your role in this business is to network with other people (through the internet - hey, you seem to be doing this already!) to enable you to share this business with them and allow them to become successful with you.

Objection 4: I’ve tried this before.

If you’ve been with another internet marketing company before and failed, let me show you where you went wrong and lead you the right way! As with anything, it takes patience in this business. You will however be equipped with all the right tools to help you become successful. Our leaders will train you and coach you. You only need to put their methods to work. There’s no need to reinvent the wheels. Work it and produce results using the most up-to-date techniques!

Objection 5: How is it working for you?

The way my uplines are earning and living, you’d know how successful you can be in this business. I strive to be just like them, leading the ideal life and so can you!

Keeping The Momentum Going

January is the time of the year where resolutions are made and goals are set. We have our engines charged and are ready for take off or have already taken off getting a good head start towards our end goal. But how long do these drives last and where do we find the fuel to keep moving? In other words how do get the momentum going? Well I suppose the answer is pretty obvious. Just don’t stop. Keep moving, keep making progress. A little a day, a little at a time is better then taking a break (stopping) for longer periods (cause you’re worn out/dejected/demotivated).

Tony Michael, SU’s VP of Sales illustrated this well in the December issue of SU’s monthly newsletter. He gives the example of a person trying to lose weight and becoming healthier and fitter person through better diet practice and daily exercises. Let’s say after 6 months this person has achieved his/her desired target weight then decided to take a break from this healthy living and eat whatever he/she wants while lazing around for 2 months. After that period, would he/she be able to return to his new healthy self? I don’t think so. Same goes with whatever that we truly desire to achieve in life. Once you start working towards the goal, don’t stop until you reach the top (your destination). This is something I myself must bear in mind thus comes this article as a reminder to myself.

Yes, we all know that sometimes the journey may be hard and we’ll come across some roadblocks that may threaten to destroy our dreams. Roadblocks may appear in many forms: financial setbacks, a conflicting relationship, unusual circumstances etc. However, if you allow it all to keep you from reaching your goals, then you probably didn’t want or don’t deserve whatever you want to achieve in the first place. This may be hard to swallow. But believe it.

Napoleon Hill in his most influential book, Think and Grow Rich talks about how important it is to have DESIRE and FAITH. If you truly desire to have a better life, then have faith that with constant effort and hard work, you will get what you want.

Another way to keep the momentum going is to work with a group of people who are working on similar goals as you. You can cheer each other along, share knowledge, and plan ways or strategies to bring the whole team closer each other’s goals. The author of a blog called IWillTeachYouToBeRich tells about how he accepted a challenge from his friends to put on more weight since he was thought to be skinny and all bones. He arrived at his goals by constantly making progress, tracking it and letting his friends know about it. There was no way he was going to back out of the challenge until he had conquered it. And he did it too! His friends can testify this! I bet he looks fantastic in his new built. So again, it’s amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it.

So once again people, the message is, ‘keep moving forward until you have your dreams firmly in your grasps. By then it won’t be your dream anymore but a living reality!

To The top!!

Carnival of Personal Finance

I found out from Fathersez that Mrs. Micah is holding a PF Carnival. I’m putting the link here so that others can have fun visiting it too and benefit from it in return. So here’s the link: www.mrsmicah.com

Let’s all get on the right track to improving our PF!!

I particularly like one article from the carnival: The Most Important Question You Could Ever Ask About Money by Paula of Queercents.com.

Paula suggests we delve into our personal values in relations to money. She then asks us to refine these values to see what lies behind it. Only after discovering our core value can we create our goals based on it.

So if I value acceptance, does that mean I want or need more money to feel accepted? Why do I value acceptance? To be loved/liked. Why do I value being loved/liked? To be able to do what I love and having others accept it. Well, that just all goes back to my core value: acceptance.

Let’s take it a few steps further. Who do I need acceptance from? My parents and my husband. In that case, I guess it simply means that whatever I do in relations to money (obtaining financial freedom) is so that my parents and husband will accept and respect my ideal way of life. Which means that I want to have more freedom in choosing my path in life. In other words, I actually value freedom!! Freedom to do what I enjoy most in life!

If my value revolves around freedom, it means that I have to align my goals with this particular value. Hmm… from the way things are going, it looks like I’m headed in the right direction.

So who else wants to set up the stage for (financial) freedom?

My Finance In Control

Amongst the necessary measures required to ensure I’ll reach my goals of achieving financial freedom is having my finances under control. So beginning first January 2008, I’ve taken to jotting down all my daily expenditures. This is a great exercise since it makes me more aware of where my money goes. By listing down my spendings, I actually end up spending less because I become more cautious of it and buy only what’s necessary.

I read in one finance blog (i think it was millionaire mommy next door’s) that controlling your finances means knowing the difference between what you need and what you desire (but don’t need). I’m happy to say that I’ve started to cultivate good spending habits. I won’t call myself a shopaholic anymore and I’m happy with this accomplishment!

This month, I’ve also started on another finance book - one that I’ve had on my book shelve for quite some time but only had the chance to read the first few chapters last weekend. The book I’m referring to is Robert Kiyosaki (of Rich Dad, Poor Dad fame)’s Retire Young, Retire Rich. This book reveals alot on using the power of leverage to accumulate wealth which I shall elaborate in another post.

Last weekend was a well spent family getaway at my inlaws’ new place in Tanjung Malim. They have a beautiful house nestled amidst the mountain side overlooking a beautiful lake garden. The air is clean and the view is spectacular! I could imagine our own family living there in one of those beautifully designed houses. It’ll definitely be ideal! Me working from home (or not having to work), being close to my loved ones and waking up every morning to a picturesque scenery and healthy living, breathing - fresh country air! It’ll be a dream come true..
