Duty Calls!

Yesterday was my hubby’s birthday. I know I should have written this entry earlier but for whatsoever reason didn’t get around to it. I’ve just finished an important duty at work. It’s time to chill now. I really, really do want to update. Infact for the past few days I’ve written drafts but didn’t post it as I thought it was deemed inappropriate and abit outdated. Like this birthday post. I had wanted to splash out a birthday wish yesterday. But duty calls as a mother and wife and friend. I really don’t mind attending to people’s needs. But sometimes I just need time for me. Like right now. I know my son’s probably waiting for me at home. I know that I should be going back now. But because I feel the need to update this blog, I’m allocating a few minutes on it. Does it make me feel better to be doing this? I’m not so sure. My back hurts, that’s for sure..but I oooh I shouldn’t even be mentioning it!

Sigh.. on days like this, I wish someone could perform a positive NLP on me. I know, I’ll go home and ‘talk’ to my Creator about the events of these past few weeks. Oh, yes, I was asked about NLP. I’m not sure I have time to search the web for it’s correct definition. So I’ll stick to what I know and come to understand. From my own understanding. NLP is similar to practising positive affirmations but it’s done through visualisation. You list down exactly the goals that you want to achieve. Then you meditate on those thoughts, imagining yourself achieving them one by one. If you want to apply it on someone, I found that it is best done when the person is in REM (rapid eye movement - you can tell by the fluttering of the lids) stage of sleep, just before the person falls into deep sleep. Because that is the time when one is most receptive to info (again, from my own understanding). It is also found that you can get a person to answer any of your questions honestly (because their sub-con will speak) when in REM stage. Again, I invite experts out there to correct me if I’m wrong. As it is, I am still learning.

I shall be making this month the month is psychology. I have yet to decide on which uni I want to pursue my masters degree at. But I know for sure now that I want it to be in the field of psychology.

Tera for now!

Goals Review March

Two months have passed and it’s time for me to review my goals again for the year. The purpose of doing this review is for me to see how much I’ve achieved in the previous two months. Let me just go through my list:

1. Success University Program:

I’ve slowed down on it’s promotion a bit though I know many more people can benefit from the program. My main goal for SU is ofcourse to earn recurring income from it. The program alone is great and the monthly newsletters and cds/dvds keep me motivated. As for enrollment, I’ve managed to enroll a few prospects however I am still in the process of finding the right people to pass on the knowledge to. By that I’m referring to people who are really serious about succeeding and acquiring riches with the program. I guess it all points back to me in the sense of how far I myself am willing to go to advance in ranks. This needs more working on. I need to find passion in Success University (right now my mind is on the postgraduate program I’m eyeing at Brunel University) and reconnect myself to it.

2. Financial Goals

I have managed to keep track of my daily spending in my diary. I find tracking purchases and expenses help keep it under control. I find myself buying only necessities and even when I eat out, I tend to seek the cheapest eateries/food stalls. Reading Alan Corey’s experience to become a millionaire by the age of 30 is pretty inspiring. Although his ideas are more suited to those who are still single, his drive to save money and earn more has made me wanting to do the same. I’ve also been devouring various other books on finance, wealth creation and investment. I find them rather addictive and will keep on reading books in this category for the rest of the year to increase my financial knowledge (thus putting me in the right path to financial freedom). I can already see how I’m going to fund our new home and still be able to invest in unit trusts (managed to find good agent). I have also already bought insurance and still have some amount in savings which I will need to top up.

3. Blog for WAHMs

My dreams of becoming a work-at-home-mom is still undergoing progress. I had intended to come up with an ebook on interviews with successful Malaysian WAHMs to find inspiration from them and for others. Have to start working on this. So far I’ve managed to interview Sandra Rocco of Miabambina.

4. Becoming an Independent Certified Instructor for BabySigns(Malaysia)

It’s another income earning opportunity I recently found. I’ve actually been wanting to be certified as an early childhood instructor since last year. At first I thought maybe hypnobirthing would be a good niche (though that’s not early childhood). But then babysigns came along and since my son is still at the right age to teach baby sign language, I am thinking, why not? (Yeah, SaiF - Why not me right?;)) It’s double opportunity for me to teach my son the useful skill and earn extra teaching others. So I recently returned my completed application for this and now I have an interview with Jamie of BabySignsMalaysia. Now that’s rather exciting :)

5. Plans to further my masters degree abroad

I have finally decided on a program (anthropology of education) and university. This will be finalised after I attend the UK Education fair end of this month. I’ll be able to meet up with my chosen university’s representatives and get to find out more on the program. Also still keeping a look out on the scholarship offer.

Wow, it looks like I have alot to focus on already other then my day job which I am still dedicatedly working on. I realised that I just reviewed my goals based on my written goals for last year and not the new goal I set out for this year. But it hasn’t changed much and I am progressing a bit with baby-steps.

Phew! This was good exercise to keep my momentum going. I’m glad I did it. Sharing it with others only puts me in action mode since I will surely only want to report back positive outcomes. To quote from SaiF of SaiF Improvement, here’s to Constant And Never-ending Improvement (CANI)!

Enough to Read!

I read a post by Mike Huang of Blogging-Ads on ramblings today and how the blogging pros often ramble every now and then to in a way stray abit from their niche so as not to become too boring and dull. And in a way, it’s kinda true.. In the past, I find that when I ramble, it somehow attracts more people to comment on my blog. hmmm..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MPH is holding another mega book sale. Although I’ve bought enough books already (mostly using coupons) I found myself unable to fight off the lure of the store. So I was there at the Alamanda branch, scouring their shelves for books that would interest me. I managed to find 4: a GMAT study guide, a book on the basics of investing (by a local author - forgot name but great stuff), an internet marketing book by Joe Rubino (Zamri would be proud should I manage to apply strategies from this book:)) and Hypnotic Writing by Joe Vitale (hey, two Joes there;p). And guess what? I ended up buying none of them. I kept thinking that I could probably get these books at the national library. But what if I don’t/can’t? And why is it that there are only limited copies of books that I like? Hmm.. to buy or not buy?.. I still have to start on reading Dave Ramseys’ Total Money Makeover. Argghh.. enough already, Azrina!!
Besides, I have quite a few stuff to finish off at work. The boss dumped the files on me yesterday so I’m loaded! Less time to read at work but have still got to allocate time to finishing RK’s Cashflow Quadrant. Maybe 15 mins before going home time. Afterall, I’ve been working pretty dilligently today. I deserve my 15 mins reading treat!
So happy reading to me!
On Overcoming Procrastination
I just finished composing a rather lengthy response to a comment posted by one of my valued reader. I’ve decided to post it here as well for easy reading.
Hi there Fauzi!
First of all I’d like to welcome you to my site and also congratulate you on your interest in PD and PF:) That’s a great first step! You mentioned to me about procrastinating and how to go about overcoming it. I’m no expert in this matter but when I read your question, the first thing that entered my mind is ‘procrastination caused by lack of inspiration and motivation’. From the materials that I’ve read, you need a strong enough WHY behind your purpose/goals/intention to make you want to take action. So if I may I ask you Fauzi, have you found your ‘Why(s)’?
For example, if your goals were to pay off all your credit card debts, ask yourself why you want to be doing this. How would realizing that goal benefit you? What kind of pain would you associate with not achieving your goal. It could be that being in debt would cause you to have to work for a lifetime, even after retirement.
Another way is to envision your end goal in mind. Really feel the joy of receiving it, having it, living it. Do this this every day. Imagine the end results vividly. When you do this the law of attraction works by sending out signals, signs and providing you with opportunities. But you must act on it to bring you closer to your goals. How fast you get there would depend on your ability to take notice and take actions.
As for hypnotizing someone to help him/her achieve his/her personal goals, you would have to refer to other experts in that particular field.
I would suggest you start a blog about your goals to share with others. Blog daily about your progress. When you find other people reading on your quest and cheering you on, you surely would not want to let them down. So that in itself will be your personal motivation to keep moving, taking it one step at a time until you reach your destination. Or you could find a mentor who will assign you specific tasks which you must complete and report back.
That’s just my take on this matter. Hope it can help you in any way. Feel free to comment. You can always email me however I appreciate you sharing your views here as it could help others who are in similar position.
Take care! Cheers:)
Starting a Gratitude Journal
Thanks to Saif of www.asksaiful.com for blogging about the necessity of keeping a gratitude journal.
Previously, I’ve tried to take the shortcut telling myself that I am capable of expressing gratitude everyday even without being prompted. But truth is, sometimes I get too preoccupied with other things that it’s easy to not fulfill this part of my duty.
By keeping a written gratitude journal, I’ll be able to work on feeling grateful every day. And like Saif mentioned, being grateful puts you in the same vibration as the universe thus attracting you more like events/things into your life.
I’ve began writing in my gratitude journal today and found that I had plenty to be grateful for just this week. I feel truly blessed.
Stumbleupon & Tina’s Blog
Having subscribed to Easy Wordpress Ezine at http://easywordpress.com, I am constantly receiving great tips on blogging with wordpress. In the recent ezine, Gobala shares a very useful traffic generating tool (if used wisely) called stumbleupon which I shall be downloading tonight.
http://www.easywordpress.com/labs/get-traffic-from-stumbleupon/
If you haven’t done so already, check it out for yourself at their website by clicking on the link above:)
I also found a really refreshing personal development blog by Tina Su called Keep It Simple. True to her words, the web layout is really clean and simple. But it’s the contents which grasp your attention and which has been attracting many readers from the world over. I’m really impressed and I’ve blogrolled her to follow the footsteps to her success. Thanks Tina for sharing with us your knowledge and experiences in the personal development field. I sure can learn alot from you:) When it comes to personal development, one can never learn enough. You have to constantly update and upgrade yourself with the accumulation and application of new knowledge, skills and techniques. And this is exactly the path that I’ve chosen and have embarked on through Success University.
RSS Feed Issues - Need Help!
First and fore most, I must thank fathersez for bringing this to my attention. If it weren’t for him, I probably wouldn’t have thought about posting on this in the first place.
Apparently it seems that a small error is encountered at certain times when subscribing to my feed. I need the help of other fellow kind hearted bloggers/readers/friends to test out my RSS feeds (this is by no means a trick to get you to subscribe!) and possibly report back to this entry. Thanks so much! I truly appreciate your assistance in this matter. Hoping to get this issue resolved in a matter of time:)
cheers!!
P.S. Also, please try subscribing using my RSS feed buttons on my bottom right hand panel. Thanks again!
P.P.S. Alternatively you can subscribe through email (new option added). tq:)
